Mission

All students at AcadeMir Charter School Middle are REQUIRED to take Physical Education. We live in a society today that is so technologically oriented, that the importance of being physically active and healthy has been overshadowed. The result being prominent in children as childhood obesity has increased significantly over the past few years. As educators in this field, we will teach the importance of being physically active and being healthy to the students, not just because they need to be graded, but because it is a necessity for them to be able to live long, active and healthy lives. The best part about the way we do it here at AcadeMir is that the students will have fun doing it, motivating them to want to go out on their own and become more physically active and caring for their diet.

Expectations and Goals

At AcadeMir, we expect nothing less than excellence. This does not mean that every single student must get an A all the time. What that means, is that every single student must do every thing in their power to actively listen and learn the content being taught. The more effort put into a students' work, the better the outcome. We expect the best effort from each student, all the time. We as teachers will also guide the students so they can become competent individuals, able to solve problems on their own. Other expectations include the following:

-Respect for everyone and everything

-Attendance in class

-A positive attitude

-Best effort

-Positive energy for listening and learning

-Cooperation

-Patience

-Flexibility

Certain goals will be set over the course of the school year and each goal will be different depending on the subject. The students will be expected to meet those goals and we will be there to help them reach their goals. Some goals that we as teachers have include the following:

-Getting to know each and every one of the students

-Motivating each student to want to exercise and eat healthier

-Pushing the students so that they always give their best effort

-Creating an environment that is comfortable to all students

-Establishing a positive relationship between the teachers and students
